this seems out of whack
I can send an international letter from here to the states, AIR MAIL, for about 3 HKG dollars. That works out to 39 cents in US money. That’s less than a first class stamp for a domestic letter in the US. Something is wrong with that.

That’s just because when you send a letter from HK to the US it goes back in time, the time already spent is reflected in the reduced postage.
