another day (or two) in Hong Kong
I didn’t post yesterday…did anyone miss me?
I was busy with other things and never got around to it, so now I’ll try to summarize two days in one post.
J had a fabulous time at church. He met some wonderful people and felt so welcomed there. He and the Templeton’s had planned to go out for lunch after the service and quite a few other people ended up joining them. J got even more information, specifically advice on where to live and possible find cheaper housing. He said they were all incredibly nice and it was a nice meal. He spent some one on one time with M. Templeton and really enjoyed himself. He didn’t return to the hotel until 6 that night. His boss was very impressed with all the information he was able to gather in such a short time from his “instant network”…what a wonderful testimony those believers had without ever realizing!
J said it was the best day he’s ever had over there, and based on the way he looked, I believe him! He looked very relaxed when I spoke to him and seemed more refreshed than he has been. Being in a “known” atmosphere, speaking and hearing English, and not having to be thinking and reacting constantly was a wonderful break for him.
Monday was spent traveling to the location of his business meeting (the name of which I just can not remember). It required a 2 hour ferry ride and then a 45 minute ride inland once they got off the boat just to get there! The meetings went well, but the travel was long. There was also a little “hiccup” on the way to the ferry. J forgot his passport and had a 15 minute walk (one way) back to the hotel to retrieve it which meant he had to catch up with his boss. He just takes these things in stride. I would have been in panic mode, trying frantically to stay calm. I am amazed at his composure while in a totally foreign country. God knew exactly what kind of husband I would need if I were ever to live abroad!

Wow, God is Great. I am glad that you will have such a great church family while over there and that God is putting wonderful people in your lives. It will make us all feel better knowing you will have a good support system over there as well as over here.

Yes.. I missed you if that counts for anything.
While reading your posts, I can’t help but notice how in love you are with your husband. I find it very sweet to hear all the positive things you have to say about J while you are probably struggling at home as a single mom. You GO girl! And although I am sad that a move over seas seems closer than I would like, I am proud of you both for following God’s lead! Ok.. that’s enough sap for one night.
