things are moving
No, I’m not talking about the overseas move (and we are NOT going there, as in that topic…. erg!). I’m talking about moving things all around in our house. A month or two ago I told dh that while I love our home (and I really do!), it wasn’t working for me. It seemed like it could be more efficient, but I wasn’t sure what changes to make. I told him what my goals were for the 1st floor (which is where all our living space is) and asked him what we could do to make it happen. Dh, being the engineer/problem solver dude that he is, started his great brain working and soon, we had a plan.
The great move has started and so far, I am loving it! I now have a homeschool corner and it’s part of the main living area which is great! It gives us a place to neatly store school things in an accessible way without having to leave them out on the table each day. Plus we can also use the school table as extra seating for meals when we have family get-togethers as it’s next to the dining area. Speaking of that, we also gained a larger dining area and table (recycled from another room) in the switch which was another desire.
On the down side, I now have a tv in my living room. It used to be in a den which I liked, but it’s all about compromise, right? I’ve gained much more than I’ve given up, that’s for sure. We did it all for free too! We just rearranged the furniture we already had. We also got rid of some UGLY furniture (YESSSSSS!) to make more room. I plan to post pictures once the dust has settled, so stay tuned.

Hrm.. although I LOVED your home the way it was, I am a little disappointed you made all these changes AFTER I left Maine.
I can’t wait to see the changes and congrats to you for putting your HGTV skills to good use! Way to recycle existing furniture!!
