It must be summer
I spent the morning with my Dad and two oldest daughters picking strawberries…lots and lots of yummy, perfect looking strawberries. I’m positive on that last point, because we all gave them a taste test and they passed with flying colors.
The girls were a huge help (to my pleasant surprise) and thought the whole experience was fun. (That’s a direct quote, by the way).
We went to the same place we’ve gone for years; a place owned by family friends (starting with my grandparents generation!) and in a beautiful part of our state, right on the ocean, in a town called Cape Elizabeth. As we picked berries, we could watch the fog roll across the fields, taste the salt in the air, and hear the seagulls squawking to share, share, share! Life doesn’t get much better….
To update all of you on David’s appointment, things went very, very well. The surgeon was supremely patient as my hubby peppered him with questions. He took it all in stride, although he did chuckle at some of the questions. That is, until hubby explained his occupation (he’s an engineer) and his insatiable need to know how and why. All the while, I’m thinking, “This Mama knows all she needs to…please stop talking now….” We feel confident in this surgeon, Dr. Quinn, and are as comfortable as can be expected about what is coming in August. Now we wait.

Oh I love fresh picked strawberries. Did you make jam? Yummy!
